Action for Rural Women’s Empowerment (ARUWE) is a non-profit NGO working nationally with the marginalized people of rural Uganda, especially women, their children and youth.We focus on food security, nutrition and income generation; rights awareness and leadership; water, hygiene and sanitation, reproductive health and HIV/AIDS; environmental protection and climate change and promoting access to quality education.
ARUWE’s work focuses on participatory, sustainable empowerment projects borne out of the needs and ambitions of the people we serve. ARUWE also offers financial and technical assistance for rural communities, especially women, with empowerment and training programs ensuring that real social change is achieved and they are equipped to advocate for their rights in the long-term.ARUWE currently works in Wakiso district, Kiboga district, Kyankwanzi district, Mpigi district, Sembabule district and North-Eastern Uganda.
